Hi guys; is there any chance of finding the conversation from the old forums about the androids and posting it here?
Think it would be really useful to kick start interest and discussion again.

I'd feel better if parts of the old discussion were left out of the new forum.

The bulk of it was a unanimus agreement that the figures should look like a cross between skeletons with guns and terminators so they could be used as both. Also that there should be a terminator style HK skimmer on the sprue. At least, that's the way I remember it (just kidding) ;-)

Yep -- skeletons with guns, skeletons with *big* guns, robotic scorpions, and maybe some VTOL-style robotic fliers for our friend Consectari there! We need to whip up some concept sketches for the sculptor.

As mentioned above, I personally want them to be usable as Terminators and as sci fi skeletons.  There are dozens of 6mm game systems.  Our friend javelin98 could recommend some good ones.
I'm sure there are alot of 6mm gamers out there that would love to play large terminator battles.

U guys are almost there, congrats!
(PS. Where are the concept sketches/renders that are supposed to show up when a product hits 50% ordered?)

Hi Kenshin -- Dave, who originally submitted this, has been helping us with looking at other figures and sprues to see how the scale was done. This one is a bit different than the standard 28mm we've been working on - so we wanted to do a bit of research to make sure we first, COULD do it and second, what the right sizing was, etc.
We think we've figured that part out now, so we're looking for a sculptor to take a whack at this.

Hello.  I'm working up some concepts.  I'll have something to post in a few days.

I've got some preliminaries for you folks.
I've just named the Androids "Deathbots" for my own fun, as a working title.  It's nothing permanent.

The smaller pics are approximations of the designs at 6mm size.  As you can see, it's more about shape than actual detail at that size.  Some things will be lost when you shrink large designs to Epic scale, but we'll burn that bridge when we cross it.

Links to the Detailed shots are in the next post.

Best,
John Bear Ross

Hmmm...The forum window seems to chopping the images to fit.  No problem.

Hmmm...the forum seems to be resizing the detail pics.  Here are the links to the full size images...
6mm shots appear to be unsized, though, so that's good.  Tiny, ain't they?

Best,
JBR

Sorry about the triple post.

Just so you know, the VTOLs will have "Deaths-heads" sculpted into their noses, instead of cockpits.  That dark spot at the nose is the top of the robotic skull.  The skull itself will look much like the Deathbot infantry, only stylized, with sensors and whatnot added.

Best,
JBR

I like those Deathbots and the skimmers look nice as well. What about Deathbot tanks?

Big fan of your work John, I've got a 1/60 Dictator and Despot that you put out a few years back.
I've started a thread on TacComm to get some feedback, I'll be cross posting important points here but here's a direct link if you're interested:

Here's my initial thoughts on the figures.
I like the standard and heavy models a lot. The light infantry I thinkneeds blades on its arms rather than the pistols. Something similar tothose on the serpentine would work great, running from wrist to elbow.

The evolved is pretty good but I'd prefer a staff like weapon instead of apistol. Something like the staff in this would be good in my mind:

I also think the lord would look good with the same weapon as well.
The ground support skimmer is great I think, two weapon options (one light, one heavy) would be best I think.
So all that's missing I guess is the repair skimmer, I was thinking something close to this guy:

Without the legs, and a cannon of some kind on the back.

TheVTOL Skimmers are definitely cool, not sure we need them on this spruethough. Another Sprue with them on it would definitely be something I'dbuy though.

Thanks again for posting these, a lot of people have been asking for them.

I also wanted to post the updated sprue contents:
12 Standard
6 Light
4 ground support skimmers (with 2 of each type of weapon, 4 if there's room)
6 serpentine
2 advanced
6 heavy
2 repair skimmers
1 lord

Everything he said, some of the designs are straying too far from what was initially offered and what i pre-ordered for. Not interested in the vtol skimmers.

Meh. I kind of like the direction its going now, very Terminator. I think given the new movie coming out, it'll be more useful to do a one that's more likely to have a wider appeal.

Honestly there is not really any scope for long lasting use for 'terminator' 6mm figs, I'd like to take a poll on that. If we're going to subtley borrow imagery here, please make it the other sort of sci fi robotic skeletons as was first planned.
