jack had an idea on the L&UL site. I am transferring his idea below. I really like his idea, and I have asked him to respond on the L&UL site.

What does everyone think? Remember, if you like someones idea remember to 'go vote' for it on the L&UL site!

jack,

I can understand making individual 28mm models to support this line, it makes perfect sense. However, when it comes to produceing 'entire Armored Platoons", I would have thought WF would produce "Platoon Sets" for the 15mm series. In fact I have been kind of hopping they would do that very thing.Just imagine, 15mm WW 2  WF quality armor models, at WF prices', heck even I might jump in to FoW, or some other rules set, just to get to use the models.

After all, as it has been said, 28mm, is pretty large scale, making individual pieces makes sense, logically your only going to use 1 - 2 in battles of that size. Lets face it, 28mm is outstanding for squad action in modern combat, the light AFV' are perfect. (Halftracks, etc)  But a "Tiger" tank in 28mm WOW! Not to mention the King Tiger.

But none the less.. I certainly wish all at WF the very best of luck with this. And as for the 15mm Armor Platoon sets..   I will keep my eyes open. )

UPDATE.
Warlord Games is now making most of their Bolt Action Vehicle line in plastic. . .but the prices have not come down much. As Jack said, it is easier on your wallet, as you do not need so many tanks in a Bolt Action game, however, you do need vehicles. . .or as the Germans and Russians used horses. . .
Now, there are already 15mm vehicles out there as Justin says, though I would disagree with the cheap, bit. FoW resin vehicles are clunky and NOT cheap, Plastic Soldier vehicles are gems, but too fragile to use on the board by ham fisted gamers, especially those who "borrow" these models to play with.
I have not seen up close any Zvezda 15mm models, which are mandatory for any Russian army in 15mm because NO ONE makes them other wise. Apparently some believe the T34 was the only tank used by the Russians from 1941-1945!
Should WGF decide to embark on 15mm vehicles, I would put my eye on "soft" skins, trucks , jeeps and the like.
Would they sell? I can't honestly say. I would buy them, but I am only one gamer.

I don't collect 15mm, however I am aware of how beautiful some of the vehicles are. Many are however too expensive IMHO for what you get.
There is a gamut of figures and vehicles out there, and a lot of armour, but the soft skins would be a winner for FoW gamer's if executed well and marketed correctly.
Wargames Factory have proved what they are capable of, I don't see any reason why these would not succeed.

As much as I would love to see some 'armor' in 15mm from WF.

(side note) For some reason the desert battles, when the 50mm was 'the big gun' of tank warfare has always appealed to me. When a 37mm ATG could do more than just annoy the crew of a tank but easily disable if not destroy it out right.

Ok.. back to point. WF doing 15mm 'armor' would IMO be GREAT, but I can also see as Potter puts it, "the soft skins" (half tracks, armored recon cars etc.) could also be a winner. As far has halftracks, the US of course had a good variety, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find more variations than those that the German army came up with. From the basic with nothing more than a single LMG, to long and short ATG's, units armed with flame throwers, rocket launchers and AA variants. The US version carrying the quad .50 cal AA mounted in the bed, was one of my favorite models as a kid.

Gaming the early part of WWII, Invasion of Poland, one Polish player, said, " I cannot believe you are not using any Tiger tanks!"
Obviously a newb.

Or just pig ignorant.

15mm tanks would be all well and good... but how about stepping outside the box and making some 15mm plastic Cossacks? I can get 15mm resin/metal tanks, guns and infantry easily locally, and various existing plastic ranges online, but it's proving damn hard to order 15mm WW2 cavalry and no-one seems to make that in plastic yet.
